All core partner schools will be involved in talent-spotting and succession planning initiatives to ensure that our core and associate schools have a supply of highly effective leaders to support school improvement.

Epinay Teaching School Partnership is committed to developing highly effective leaders by providing the following within and beyond our core schools.

  • Coaching and secondment opportunities to provide key learning pathways for leaders.
  • Opportunities to experience leadership roles in other schools
  • Mentoring of aspiring, middle or senior leaders by more experienced staff.
  • Opportunities Deputy or Assistant Head teachers to take on an acting higher leadership roles
  • Support staff exchange to develop individuals learning specialisms in the field of SEN

Information about development opportunities are made available across the partnership. Part-time staff and those with very young children are included in planning opportunities for leadership development and bespoke pathways of support staff development are in development across the partnership schools.

To identify potential leaders, an annual list of list of staff interested in leadership roles will be drawn up across the partnership so that leadership development opportunities can be targeted at those most suited for them. Through a range of formal and informal leadership training opportunities the partnership will ensure that high quality leaders are equipped to ensure the best outcomes for schools, staff, learners and in particular those with Special Educational Needs.

Epinay Teaching School Partnership is developing secure partnerships with leadership training providers to provide quality assured learning and development for all and provide specialist SEN input to complement a wide range of courses including NPQML, NPQML and NPQH.

We are working together to develop a network of people in various leadership roles, e.g. Foundation Stage, Key Stage, Literacy and Numeracy leaders as well as SENCOs and Business Managers, who will meet together to identify school development and professional learning needs of the core group and its wider partners.
